This privacy policy explains what information Local PR, LLC (“Local PR,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects when you visit localpr.com, sign up for our newsletter, ask to be listed in our database, order content or contact us, and what we do with it.
The short version
- We don’t sell your personal information, and this site has no advertising pixels.
- We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare to understand how the site is used and to keep it running.
- If you submit one of our publisher or topic expert request forms, the details you submit are published in our public database and newsletter.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your email address and your message. We use them to reply to you.
- Newsletter sign-up. Your email address and anything else the sign-up form asks for. Our newsletter is sent with Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores your subscription for us.
- Publisher and topic expert request forms. The forms on our publishers and sources and topic experts pages are Google Forms, so Google receives what you enter. What we do with it is under “Information we publish” below.
- Content orders. The order form on our pricing page is a ClickUp form. ClickUp receives the order details and contact information you enter, and we use them to handle your order.
- Payments. This website doesn’t collect payment card details. If you pay us for an order, your payment is handled by Stripe, which receives your payment details under its own privacy policy. We don’t see or store your full card number.
Information we publish
Local PR connects local publishers with sources and topic experts. When you submit a publisher or topic expert request form, we may publish:
- your first and last name, email address, website address, website niche and location in our public Database of Publishers or Database of Sources & Topic Experts (your email address appears when a visitor clicks “Show email”), and
- your request, with your name, website, niche, location and a way to email you, in the Local PR Newsletter, which we email to subscribers and also post on this website.
Anyone can see these listings, search engines may index them, and others may copy them. Please don’t submit anything you don’t want published. To change or remove your listing, contact us. We can remove it from the database and from the posted newsletters, but we can’t recall emails that have already been sent.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, localpr.com uses a few services that receive information from your browser when you visit.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) shows us how the site is used: the pages you view, how you arrived, scrolling, clicks on links to other sites, file downloads, video plays, site searches and form use, along with your device, browser and approximate location (worked out from your IP address). It uses cookies to recognize returning visitors. When you submit a form, Google Analytics may also receive the contact details you typed in a hashed (scrambled) form. Google explains how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, and you can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, so it handles every request, including your IP address. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views and measures how fast pages load, without cookies.
- SiteGround hosts the site. Its servers keep standard logs (IP address, browser, the page requested and the time) for security and troubleshooting.
- Kit. If you arrive by clicking a link in one of our emails, Kit’s plugin may save a cookie with your subscriber number so the site can recognize you as a subscriber. Our emails also record whether they were opened and which links were clicked.
- Gravatar, Google Forms and ClickUp. The author photos on our articles come from Gravatar (Automattic), and the request and order forms load from Google and ClickUp. These services receive your IP address when their content loads, and may set their own cookies.
Cookies
- _ga and _ga_PDH2RSNMD8 (Google Analytics) tell returning visitors apart in our statistics. They last up to 2 years.
- ck_subscriber_id (Kit) recognizes newsletter subscribers who arrive from our emails. It lasts 1 year.
- Cloudflare security cookies are set only when Cloudflare needs to check for bots or attacks, and they are short-lived.
- Google and ClickUp may set their own cookies inside their embedded forms, under their own privacy policies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. The site still works without them.
